Family and Parenting Therapy
Family therapy addresses issues that affect not only the individual but the family as a whole. This form of therapy can be utilized on its own or as an addition to individual therapy. Family therapy is valuable for a wide range of experiences (e.g., infidelity, divorce, mental illness, family blending, adoption). With this approach, the family is treated as a system and the clinician works with its members together to restore harmony, enhance connection, and provide tools for more effective communication.
Family therapy typically requires members of a family to commit to attending a majority of the therapy sessions to work together on an issue. Family therapy can be helpful throughout the lifespan of a family, and Compass therapy providers with both with families that include young children and families in which all members are adults.
