Dr. Ava Casados obtained her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Yale University. She then completed internship training at the University of New Mexico children’s hospital and the New Mexico VA, and she completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). She has extensive experience helping children, teens, and young adults cope with challenging circumstances, including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. In addition to being a licensed psychologist, Dr. Casados is a trained scientist and artist. She integrates these skills into therapy by selecting only the most scientifically supported treatments, and creatively tailoring them to fit each individual’s needs. Her approach is collaborative, supportive, and culturally-sensitive. She creates a safe, stigma-free space for clients to explore and alter negative patterns, process painful experiences, and grow comfortable and confident enough to face future challenges with strength and resilience.
